Thomas Curtis Sr. was born in 1945 in Keams Canyon, Arizona.  He learned silversmithing from his Grandfather and he maintains a Traditional Look in most of the jewelry he creates today.  Thomas makes all of his own stamps and his trademark is the clean and precise way he stamps the heavy guage silver he uses in his art pieces.  Before Thomas was a silversmith, he was a Champion Bareback Rider and one of the first members chosen into the All Indian Professional Rodeo Cowboy's Association.  He made quite a reputation for himself on the rodeo circuit and earned his living that way before turning to silversmith work. He entered his first Santa Fe Indian Market in 1984, winning a 1st Place Ribbon, and he has been winning awards and successfully selling his jewelry ever since.  He has taught his daughter Jennifer the art of "working with the silver", so the Thomas Curtis Sr Traditional style jewelry will live on.
